Another Pause

I woke up the other day to find xhamster had taken down 96 of my galleries and videos, asking for ID for the "performers". I responded with my usual explanation on how they are all computer generated and there are no performers. They've since restored 26 of them, but there has been no further updates on the rest.
It's xhamster's policy that you can't have "photorealistic" computer generated art. That's fine. I think that the ability to easily create non-consensual deep-faked pornography is a valid issue that should be guarded against. I accept it isn't always an unambiguously clear line. A really good charcoal sketch of someone can look "realistic", but isn't photorealistic. In the course of trying to produce interesting content and keep to xhamsters rules there's going to be cases where opinions differ.
I do think, however, xhamster could do a better job. Some galleries, such as a commission for "Flintstone porn" are about as cartoony as you can get, yet still have been taken down. The lack of explanation and responsiveness from xhamster makes it hard to know what will and what will not pass. Also, many of the galleries were approved, later taken down, then reapproved, and are now taken down again. The inconsistency of the process creates uncertainty not just in investing in future work, but also the return on investment for past work.
So, again, I'm pausing operations while xhamster makes some decisions. Once the galleries are restored, or I have clear communication from them on how they are now interpreting their policy with respect to their contents, I'll start working through the backlog again.
